UEFA Sets September 2 Deadline for Champions League Squads

UEFA has established September 2, 2026, as the deadline for clubs to submit their List A squads for the 2026/27 Champions League league phase. Clubs are permitted to register a maximum of 25 players, with at least two designated as goalkeepers.

Of these 25 players, a minimum of eight must be locally trained, which includes club-trained players who have been registered for three full seasons between the ages of 15 and 21, and association-trained players registered with clubs affiliated to the same national association. Clubs with fewer than eight locally trained players will have their maximum squad size reduced accordingly.

Additionally, clubs can register an unlimited number of players on List B, which can be amended throughout the season and must be submitted by 23:59 CET the day before a match. Players born on or after January 1, 2005, who have been eligible for the club for two uninterrupted years, can be included on List B.

Clubs advancing to the knockout phase may register up to three new players by February 4, 2027.
