UI Inducts New Environmental Health Graduates in Ibadan

The University of Ibadan inducted its third cohort of environmental health graduates, urging them to become champions in disease prevention and environmental sustainability. The ceremony featured Professor Temidayo Ogundiran, Provost of the College of Medicine, who highlighted the critical yet often unrecognized role of the environmental health profession in safeguarding public health.

He emphasized the need for graduates to uphold scientific precision and moral courage while remaining connected to their alma mater for mentorship. Dr.

John Kehinde, retired Director of Health Emergency Response and Disease Control, called on new environmental health officers to maintain the high standards set by their predecessors. Professor Bukola Fawol charged the graduates to embrace their vital role in public health, stressing that environmental health is a cornerstone of healthcare delivery.

The event celebrated academic excellence, with four students graduating with first-class honors and eleven achieving second-class upper division.
