Nursing Council Urges Benue Graduates on Ethics

During the induction ceremony for the first set of graduates from the Nursing Science department at Moshood Abiola University, formerly Benue State University, Dr. Alhassan Ndagi, the registrar of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, urged the 57 graduates to adhere to professional ethics and standards.

The ceremony, held at the College of Health Sciences, emphasized the importance of empathy in nursing, which is crucial for quality patient care. Dr.

Ndagi noted that the graduates, who received a Bachelor of Nursing Science degree, would undergo a year-long internship, during which they would receive a temporary license based on their performance. Upon completion, they would be issued a permanent license.

Hyacinth Alia advised the graduates to maintain good conduct in their professional practice, while Mr. Patricia Amonuobi encouraged them to excel in their careers.

Prof. Timothy Alabar and Dr.

Ukemd Freeman also addressed the graduates, stressing the need for soft skills in modern nursing practice.
