Nigeria Receives 30,204 UK Study Visas in 2025

According to the latest report from the UK Home Office, Nigeria received 30,204 study visas by the end of December 2025, reflecting a significant 59% increase compared to 2024. This surge places Nigeria among the fastest-growing countries for UK study visas, ranking just behind Pakistan, which recorded 30,781 visas, while India received the highest number at 95,231.

Additionally, 3,894 Nigerians in the UK were approved to extend their student status, allowing them to continue their studies under the student route. This extension figure is part of a broader trend, with a total of 34,538 main applicants receiving extensions to continue their studies in the UK, despite a 5% decline in applications compared to the previous year.

The report indicates that the application process, including biometric submissions at visa centers, remains unchanged following earlier reforms that began to streamline the study visa process.
