UK Introduces ETA for Citizens of 82 Countries

The United Kingdom has announced the implementation of the Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA), which allows citizens from 82 countries to enter Britain without a traditional visa. The ETA permits holders to stay in the UK for up to six months for purposes such as tourism, visiting friends or relatives, attending meetings, or completing short courses.

Additionally, it provides access to the Creative Worker visa concession, enabling creative professionals to work in the UK for up to three months. ETA holders can also engage in permitted paid engagements, such as giving lectures or examining students, provided these activities are short-term and fall within approved categories.

Furthermore, the ETA allows for transit through UK airports when passing through border control. The UK government advises travelers to confirm transit eligibility with their airlines.
