FG Files 12-Count Charge Against Lawyer Mike Ozekhome

The Federal Government of Nigeria has filed a fresh 12-count charge against senior advocate Mike Ozekhome at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory in Abuja. The charges allege conspiracy and forgery related to a property located at 79 Randall Avenue, London, purportedly linked to the late General Jeremiah Useni.

The prosecution claims that Ozekhome and co-defendant Tali Shani conspired to forge Nigerian passport documents to support their claims regarding the property. The charges include allegations of obtaining a false Nigerian passport and using it to facilitate property claims between May 30, 2020, and 2023.

Specific counts detail Ozekhome's alleged involvement in executing a power of attorney for a fictitious person and controlling rental income from the property. The case is being prosecuted by Oyedepo Iseoluwa Rotimi, Director of Public Prosecutions, on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Justice, which has concluded that a prima facie case exists against the defendants.
