Oluremi Tinubu to Preach at Lambeth Palace During UK Visit

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu is scheduled to preach at Lambeth Palace and meet with church leaders as part of her historic state visit to the United Kingdom. She arrived in London on Tuesday via Stansted Airport.

The official program includes a meeting with the heir to the throne on Wednesday, followed by a visit to Windsor where King Charles III is expected to host a state banquet in honor of the Nigerian President's visit. This state visit marks Nigeria's first to the UK in nearly four decades and comes amid efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations between the two countries.

In November 2024, Nigeria and the UK are set to sign a strategic partnership agreement aimed at boosting cooperation in trade, security, and migration. The discussions during this visit are expected to focus on British support for port development projects in Nigeria, with bilateral trade projected to reach $8.1 billion to $11 billion by September 2025, reflecting an 11.4 percent increase year-on-year.
