CRPP Critiques Edo State's UK Investment Mission

The Coalition for Reform and Progress Party (CRPP), led by National Chairman Dr. Samson Isibor and National Secretary Hon.

Nkama Waribe, criticized the Edo State government's recent investment mission to the United Kingdom. They called for full transparency regarding the mission's costs, delegation composition, and expected benefits for Edo residents.

The CRPP referenced President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's advice on prudent public resource management, emphasizing its relevance amid ongoing economic hardships in Edo State. They expressed concerns that the delegation included individuals irrelevant to the investment mission and that key commissioners were initially excluded.

Allegations were made regarding the Governor contacting these commissioners only after arriving in the UK. The CRPP also recalled a previous investment mission to Glasgow, Scotland, which ended controversially with a proposed $250 million investment failing to yield results.

In response, State Commissioner for Information and Strategy Prince Kassim Afegbua defended the trip, stating that 90 percent of attendees were self-sponsored and that the meeting aimed to connect with the Edo Diaspora.
