Tinubu's Name on Coastal Highway as 400km Approved

On a recent announcement, Dave Umahi, the Minister of Works, revealed that the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway will be named after President Bola Tinubu, recognizing his long-standing vision for the project. The Federal Government has approved an additional 400 kilometers for this highway, which is part of a broader initiative to enhance Nigeria's infrastructure.

The coastal highway, which spans 750 kilometers, has already been recognized for its modern infrastructure delivery, particularly the section on Victoria Island and Lekki. Umahi also discussed the reconstruction of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which has deteriorated over the past five years, emphasizing the need for reinforced concrete pavement to ensure durability.

Furthermore, the Minister announced the approval for the construction of the 5.76-kilometer Lao Bridge in Taraba State and the review of the abandoned Ibi Bridge project, which was 40% complete before being halted. This initiative aims to strengthen connectivity across the North Central and North East regions of Nigeria.
