Atiku Abubakar Blames Tinubu for Nigeria's Hunger Crisis

Atiku Abubakar, during a political engagement in Yola, condemned President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's administration for turning Nigeria into a hunger hotspot, as reported by the United Nations. He stated that the current economic hardship has escalated into a full-blown humanitarian emergency, affecting thirty-five million Nigerians.

Atiku emphasized that ten million citizens are struggling to secure basic food, leading to widespread despair among vulnerable households. He criticized the government's abrupt removal of fuel subsidies without adequate social safety nets, which triggered a severe cost of living crisis.

The rising prices of essential goods have made food unaffordable for ordinary families. Atiku pointed out that farmers are unable to access their lands due to banditry and violence, further jeopardizing food security.

He urged the federal government to declare a food security emergency and implement urgent support measures for farmers to stabilize the situation, asserting that hunger fuels crime and destabilizes the nation.
