NFF Schedules Extraordinary General Assembly for 2026

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has announced an extraordinary general assembly to take place on March 23, 2026, at the DSP Alamieyeseigha Banquet Hall in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. The assembly will be declared open by the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri.

Notable attendees include Mallam Shehu Dikko, Chairman of the National Sports Commission, Hon. Bukola Olopade, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Abdul Ningi, and Hon.

Kabiru Amadu, Chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Sports. The assembly will gather chairmen and secretaries of football associations from the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, as well as members of the NFF Executive Committee, various league coaches, referees, and player unions.

NFF President Ibrahim Musa Gusau will deliver a welcome address, and the assembly will deliberate on amendments to the NFF statutes, the NFF electoral code, and the appointment of members to the NFF electoral committee and appeal committee, alongside an independent auditor. The announcement of the assembly comes amid heightened leadership anxiety within Nigeria's football body.
