Uncredited Africa Partners with Lagos for Screenwriter Training

Uncredited Africa has launched a strategic partnership with the Lagos State Government to provide professional development for emerging screenwriters. The initiative aims to build a sustainable creative economy by offering a free eight-week intensive program for writers aged 18 to 35.

The curriculum includes training in concept development, market readiness, screenplay finishing, and pitch sessions to establish production connections. Mr.

Lani Aisida, the founder of Uncredited Africa, emphasized that the program focuses on building sustainable careers rather than just teaching scriptwriting. Engr.

Sholabomi Shasor, the Lagos State Permanent Secretary, highlighted the social and economic impact of engaging young people through this partnership. Mr.

Ololad Aina, the Lagos State Minister of Wealth Creation and Employment, discussed the potential for job creation within the creative industry. Former student Abimbola Akin, now an AMVCA-nominated screenwriter, shared how the training significantly impacted her career.
