UNICAL Suspends Nine Students for Exam Malpractice

The University of Calabar has suspended nine students due to involvement in exam malpractice and result forgery. This decision was made during the 252nd Senate meeting, as reported by the institution's registrar, Dr. Chukwuka Icha.

An ad hoc Senate committee presented findings on the misconduct, leading to the suspension of five students for exam malpractice and four for submitting forged results. The affected students include Akwuba Enestina (300 level Pharmacy), Udom Ibora (300 level Pharmacy), Nwankwo Daniel (200 level Pharmacy), Or Israel (500 level Pharmacy), Chisom Ejafa (500 level Pharmacy), Lazarus Ebogo (Department of Home Economics), El Godwin (Department of Zoology), Ofem Patrick (Department of Science Laboratory Technology), and Makailu Pamilo (Department of Linguistics and Communication Studies).

The suspensions will take effect in the 2024/2025 academic year, and the Chief Security Officer has been directed to ensure compliance with the suspension order.
