UNICEF Supports Bauchi's 2026 MNCH Week with N464m Supplies

UNICEF, in collaboration with partners, has mobilized N464 million worth of supplies to support the Bauchi State government's implementation of the first half of the 2026 Maternal Newborn Child Health (MNCH) Week, which began on June 29. Dr.

Nuzhat Raffiqu, Chief Field Officer at UNICEF Bauchi, announced the initiative during the flag-off event at the Yelwa Health Centre. She expressed gratitude towards the Bauchi State government, particularly Governor and Deputy Governor, for their efforts to improve health access for children.

The MNCH Week aims to provide comprehensive health services, including the distribution of 311,500 blue vitamin doses and 1.2 million red doses to prevent diseases among children. Additionally, UNICEF will provide 35,000 doses of the HPV vaccine to girls aged nine, emphasizing the importance of maternal and child health services.

Dr. Raffiqu urged mothers to take advantage of the campaign and bring their children for the available services.
