UNIFEMGA Promotes Positive Mindset for National Growth

UNIFEMGA conducted its 2026 annual national reunion from May 8 to May 10 at Obafemi Awolowo University, focusing on the theme of fostering a positive mindset for national success. The event commenced with a special Jumat service at the university's central mosque and included a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Professor Adebayo Simeon Bamir.

Key speakers included Lanr Issa Onilu, Director General of the National Orientation Agency, and Abdulkabir Adisa Aliu, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Matrix Energy Group. The reunion emphasized Nigeria's vast human and material resources and the need for citizens to adopt a positive attitude.

UNIFEMGA presented 140 scholarships worth N14.6 million to students and disclosed the disbursement of N103 million to 1,148 students since the inception of its scholarship scheme in the 2009/2010 academic session. Additionally, the association launched a N200 million endowment fund for widows and orphans and urged the government to address challenges in higher education, including brain drain and outdated curricula.
