UNILAG and Theseabilities Foundation Reward Innovators

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) and the Theseabilities Foundation held a conference to reward assistive technology innovators, showcasing practical research-driven solutions to improve access for persons with disabilities. The event, which took place at UNILAG's Faculty of Social Sciences, featured a competition where Team Audio Reality won first place, receiving a N2 million prize.

Team S.G.L. secured second place with a N1.5 million award, while Team Amebo Secur came in third, winning N1 million. The competition selected nine finalists from 19 submissions, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and innovation in assistive technology.

Pastor Ituah Ighodalo, chairman of the Theseabilities Foundation, highlighted the foundation's role in sponsoring and funding innovations that create real-world impacts. Applications for the next phase of the initiative will close on January 31, 2026, with a focus on inclusivity across various demographics, including gender and vulnerable groups.
