UNILAG and DevReporting to Host Local Governance Event

The University of Lagos (UNILAG) and DevReporting are collaborating to address accountability in local governance through a three-in-one event on October 29 at UNILAG, Akoka. The event will premiere the investigative documentary ‘LG Billions in the Dark’, which examines local government administration in Osun State and broader issues in public finance management, service delivery, and civic accountability.
Additionally, the Development Reporting Africa Foundation (DRAF) will be formally launched, alongside a strategic fundraising campaign. The partnership was announced during a courtesy visit by DevReporting management, including Managing Editor Christiana Alabi-Akande and Associate Editor Samson Ademola, who expressed gratitude for UNILAG's support.
Alabi-Akande emphasized the documentary's aim to stimulate a national conversation on local governance and accountability. The documentary is produced in partnership with the Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) and supported by the Royal Norwegian Embassy.
Ademola noted the importance of engaging students to enhance understanding of local governance issues.
