UNILAG Collaborates with Swoop for Safer Food Delivery

The University of Lagos has entered into a partnership with the food delivery platform Swoop to implement a three-month pilot program aimed at providing safer and more affordable food delivery services for students. This initiative was launched in response to security concerns regarding unregistered delivery riders on campus.
Under this program, only registered and identifiable riders from approved platforms will be permitted to deliver food to students. Demola Adesina, the Country Manager of Swoop and a UNILAG alumnus, stated that the company is committed to enhancing campus safety while ensuring students have access to affordable food options.
The pilot program will also allow students to view delivery charges and track their orders in real time. Swoop's operating model ensures that riders retain 100 percent of their delivery fees, while restaurants benefit from lower platform fees.
The initiative aims to demonstrate that safety and convenience can coexist in food delivery services.
