UNIZIK Appoints Prof. Igwedibia as Deputy Director

Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka has appointed Prof. Adaoma Igwedibia, a reverend sister, as the Deputy Director of the University’s Advancement Board, effective August 1, 2026.

This appointment was approved by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ugochukwu Bond Anyaehie, and communicated through a letter signed by the Registrar, Dr.

Chinenye Gloria Okeke. Prof.

Igwedibia is a Professor of Literary Pragmatics and Gender Studies in the Department of English Language and Literature at UNIZIK. She has previously served as the Head of the Department and has a notable background in teaching, research, and university administration.

Additionally, she was the Deputy Director of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund), contributing to educational policies and programs. The university expressed confidence that her experience in academia and governance will bolster the Advancement Board's efforts in resource mobilization, alumni engagement, and strategic partnerships, ultimately enhancing the university's academic standing and sustainability.
