Unizik Students Honor Prof. Dora Akunyili's Legacy

Students at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik) celebrated the legacy of Prof. Dora Akunyili, the late former director of the Nigerian National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC).

The event, held at the Prof. Dora Akunyili Hostel, attracted university administrators, legal practitioners, and distinguished guests who paid tribute to the late icon, describing her as a symbol of integrity, courage, and selfless leadership.

Prof. Kingslei Ikechukwu Uboji, Dean of Student Affairs, welcomed attendees and emphasized the importance of preserving Akunyili's memory to inspire young people to embrace values that define public service.

Hon. Obumnem Akunyili, her son and director of project monitoring at the Anambra State Government, expressed gratitude to the university community for keeping his mother's memory alive through this annual celebration.

The event featured remarks from various speakers, including Dr. Nkem Okek and Barr.

Austin Akonam Ogbonna, who underscored the significance of integrity and diligence in achieving genuine success.
