UNN Condemns Alex Onyia for Criticizing Infrastructure

The University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) publicly condemned Alex Onyia for his recent criticisms regarding the institution's infrastructure, particularly the state of Eni Njoku Hostel. In a statement from the university's public relations office, Agha Egwu expressed that Onyia's actions were embarrassing and portrayed the university in a negative light.

Onyia had allegedly arrived at the university with a television crew to document the deteriorating conditions, which he described during an interview as "stink." The university's management, including Vice Chancellor Simon Uchenna Ortunya, noted that steps toward renovating the hostel had already commenced and criticized Onyia's behavior as unfair. The statement also referenced Governor Chukwuma Soludo's recent visit, which acknowledged ongoing infrastructural improvements despite existing challenges.

The university questioned Onyia's intentions, suggesting that his criticisms did not aim to improve conditions but rather to draw negative public attention to the institution.
