Bandits Kill Five, Abduct 29 at Kaduna Church Attack

On Easter Sunday, a violent attack occurred at an ECWA Church in Kaduna, where bandits killed five worshippers and abducted 29 others. The assailants, numbering around 20 and arriving on motorcycles, launched their attack while the service was ongoing, firing indiscriminately.

The deceased were identified as Tanko Haruna, Waziri Agunu, Aminu Soba, Joseph Audu, and Adamu Jatau. Among those abducted were Garba Tanko, his wife Lami, their daughter Rachel, and grandchild Mose Yakubu, along with Rahab Usman and her daughter Victoria Rahab, and Sundai Ayuba Dantani with his family.

Following the attack, security sources indicated that the Kaduna State Police Commissioner, CP Rabiu Mohammed, and Colonel I.R. Adom of the Nigerian Army led a convoy of 30 vehicles to assess the situation.

Reports suggest that the entire community fled to neighboring areas, including Katari, Jere, and Kachia, due to the attack. The Kaduna State Police Command spokesperson, DSP Hassan Mansur, did not provide comments on the incident at the time.
