Terrorists Abduct Students During NECO Exams in Borno

On Monday morning, terrorists abducted an unspecified number of students from Lassa Secondary School in Askira Uba Local Government Area, Borno State, during their National Examination Council (NECO) exams. The attack occurred around 9 AM, with assailants reportedly dressed in military-style uniforms.

They shot sporadically, killing one teacher and injuring another. The Borno State Police Command, led by spokesperson Nahum Daso, confirmed the deployment of security forces to confront the attackers and prevent further abductions.

Local resident Solomon Kwamagar reported that the attackers arrived on motorcycles, invaded the school, and also targeted a nearby market. The incident has raised concerns, as it follows a pattern of similar attacks in the region, including a previous incident where 42 students were abducted from Mussa Primary and Junior Secondary School.

Efforts to obtain comments from local officials regarding the total number of abducted individuals have been unsuccessful.
