Troops Rescue 10 NECO Candidates from ISWAP Attack

On Monday, troops from the Nigerian Military, under the command of Capt Muhammad Goni, rescued 10 individuals, including NECO candidates and teachers, who were abducted by ISWAP terrorists at Lassa Dai Secondary School in Askira Uba Local Government Area, Borno State. The attack occurred around 9 AM, disrupting an ongoing NECO examination session.

Following the report of the attack, the military launched a coordinated air and ground search and rescue operation, deploying strike aircraft and intelligence surveillance platforms. The troops made contact with fleeing terrorists, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire.

The rescued individuals were reported to be unhurt and are currently receiving medical attention. The operation also led to the recovery of seven motorcycles used by the terrorists during their escape.

The military confirmed the loss of one soldier and a member of the Civilian Joint Task Force during the operation. Security forces have intensified efforts in the area to prevent further abductions.
