US Firm Aids Alleged Fake DG in Asylum Bid Amid Scandal

The US lobbying firm Von Batten Montagu York has offered to help Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to be the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), seek asylum in the United States. Adeyemi is embroiled in allegations of misappropriation of funds linked to senior Nigerian government officials.

Dr. Von Batten disclosed that the firm has established contact with Adeyemi to prepare a briefing for members of the US Congress regarding the allegations against him.

Adeyemi has accused Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, of demanding 45% of the agency's budget and has expressed fears for his safety due to threats received. He is also facing charges of forgery and impersonation in Nigeria, with a case set for arraignment in the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The allegations include the misuse of funds from World Bank loans, which are part of Nigeria's national budget.
