Fake PFIPC DG Adeniyi Adeyemi Arrested in Osun State

Adeniyi Adeyemi was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force on Tuesday in Osun State after a bench warrant was issued by Justice Moham Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja. The warrant was a result of Adeyemi's repeated failure to appear in court to face criminal charges, including allegations of forgery and impersonation related to his claim of being the Director General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC).

The arrest followed an oral application by prosecutor Wisdom Madaki, who informed the court that Adeyemi had not appeared despite several adjournments. Justice Umar granted the application for arrest, emphasizing the need for Adeyemi to answer the charges against him.

The case, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, involves eight counts of conspiracy, forgery, and impersonation, with the next court date set for September 30, 2026. Adeyemi's counsel, Genesi Franci, cited fears for his client's life as a reason for his absence, but the court proceeded with the arrest order.
