Lionel Richie Hospitalized After St. Louis Concert

Legendary American singer Lionel Richie was hospitalized in St. Louis, Missouri, after performing at The Muny on Saturday, August 29, 2023. The 77-year-old music icon sought medical attention shortly after completing his concert, checking himself into a local hospital for precautionary medical tests.

Reports indicated that Richie appeared to struggle during the final stages of his performance, specifically during his last song, "All Night Long," when he requested a chair. Doctors are investigating possible slight dehydration as a reason for his condition, although his representatives have not confirmed any diagnosis.

Richie’s hospitalization follows another health scare in June 2023 during a concert in St. Paul, Minnesota, where he felt dizzy and was taken to the hospital. Following that incident, he postponed two performances but later resumed his tour.

Richie is currently on the "Sing a Song All Night Long" tour with Earth, Wind & Fire, with his next performance scheduled for September 26, 2023, in San Francisco.
