Iranian Envoy: U.S. Seeks Control Over Iran's Oil

Gholamreza Mahdavi Raja, the Iranian Ambassador to Nigeria, stated that the ultimate goal of the United States is to control Iran's oil reserves rather than to establish peace. He characterized U.S. actions as driven by hegemonic ambitions, particularly in light of recent U.S.-Israeli strikes on Iran, which he claims are part of a broader strategy to dominate Iran's energy resources.

Raja emphasized that despite these attacks, Iran's government continues to function normally and that the Iranian people remain united in defending their sovereignty against foreign interference. He also accused the U.S. of targeting civilian areas, including schools in Minab city, resulting in casualties among children, and dismissed claims that Iran sponsors terrorism in Nigeria as politically motivated.

Raja reaffirmed Iran's independence in making decisions without external influence and warned that military escalations could destabilize the region and affect global energy prices.
