Usman Considers Welterweight Return After Loss to du Plessis

Kamaru Usman, with a record of 21-5, faced Dricus du Plessis, who holds a record of 24-3, in the main event of a UFC fight in Oklahoma City. Usman lost the match by unanimous decision, with judges scoring it 49-46 and 50-45 in favor of du Plessis.

Despite Usman's wrestling skills, he struggled to gain an advantage, particularly after suffering an eye injury from a legal strike in the second round. This defeat follows Usman's previous unanimous decision victory over Joaquin Buckley, which had ended a three-fight slump.

In a post-fight interview, Usman indicated that he is considering a return to the welterweight division after this second loss in the middleweight category. UFC Chief Executive Dana White declined to speculate on Usman's future following the fight.
