FRSC Enhances Road Safety Measures for Valentine's Day

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), led by Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed, has announced a nationwide deployment of operatives to enhance road safety during the Valentine's Day celebrations. The agency has issued warnings to motorists to avoid reckless behaviors, including excessive speeding and driving under the influence of alcohol.

Commanding officers across the country have been directed to intensify patrol operations and ensure a visible presence for effective traffic control. The FRSC has also implemented strategies for public enlightenment to mitigate road traffic crashes during this festive period.

Field operatives have been instructed to utilize breathalyzers and radar guns to detect and apprehend drunk and speeding drivers. Motorists violating established traffic laws will face appropriate sanctions.

The FRSC has urged the public to report accidents or reckless driving through its toll-free emergency line, 122, and called on parents and guardians to counsel their wards, particularly the youth, who are especially vulnerable during this time.
