Farotimi: VeryDarkMan is Nigeria's New Hope for Justice

Human rights lawyer and activist Dele Farotimi declared that social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has supplanted the judiciary as the hope for the common man in Nigeria. In a YouTube video uploaded on Saturday, Farotimi reacted to the controversy surrounding VeryDarkMan's invitation to the Nigerian Bar Association’s 66th Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt.

He argued that VDM's rise signifies the judicial system's failure to deliver justice to ordinary citizens. Farotimi emphasized that a society with a functional police and judicial system would not need figures like VDM.

He criticized the current judicial system, stating it is populated by "crooks" rather than jurists. Farotimi warned that if the judiciary and other institutions do not address Nigerians' grievances, more individuals like VDM will emerge, potentially leading to a breakdown of societal order.

He urged Nigerians to reflect on the state of the justice system rather than solely focusing on VeryDarkMan's activities.
