Natasha Idibia and Edo Lawmakers Join National Democratic Congress

Natasha Osawaru Idibia, the wife of popular singer 2Baba, and several lawmakers from the Edo State House of Assembly, including Chariti Aiguobarueghian, defected from the People's Democratic Party (PDP) to the National Democratic Congress (NDC). The formal unveiling of the defectors took place at a reception in Abuja, led by NDC's national leader, Senator Seriake Dickson.

During the event, Dickson assured the new entrants of fair and equal opportunities within the NDC, which remains committed to internal democracy and inclusivity. He stressed the importance of unity within the party and noted that the NDC is open to all Nigerians who share its vision for good governance and development.

Aiguobarueghian stated that the decision to switch parties followed careful consideration of the country's political situation. The event also featured a brief musical performance by Tuface, and Osawaru expressed optimism about the future of the NDC.
