Fire Service Chief's Kogi Visit Triggers Social Media Buzz

During the Easter period, Olumod Adeyemi, the Chief of the Federal Fire Service, visited his home state of Kogi, which drew significant reactions on social media due to the display of his convoy. Adeyemi's visit included courtesy calls to traditional rulers such as Muyiwa Ibeun and Ibrahim Gambo, and aimed to engage community leaders to promote fire safety awareness.

The visit was part of his broader efforts to enhance fire safety in Nigeria. Adeyemi, who was appointed by President Bola Tinubu, undertook several visits across the state, including a reception held at the Olonijola Event Centre in Kabba, attended by dignitaries including Kogi State Deputy Governor Joel Salifu Oyibo and others.

Traditional rulers commended Adeyemi's leadership and called for the establishment of a national fire training school in Kogi State. Additionally, they requested the construction of a fire station in Kabba to address recurring fire incidents.

The convoy's display, however, raised concerns among Nigerians about the prioritization of resources.
