Keyamo Accuses Obi of Lying Over Airport Harassment Claims

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, publicly accused Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), of lying regarding his claim of harassment at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja. During an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Keyamo questioned why the interviewer did not confront Obi about what he described as false claims made during a prior interview.

Keyamo insisted that Obi was the one who alleged harassment due to his opposition status and criticized the media for failing to challenge Obi's narrative. He stated, “He lies like a fish drinking water,” emphasizing his belief in Obi's dishonesty.

Keyamo defended his decision to investigate the airport incident, asserting it was his duty as the minister overseeing aviation. He expressed concern over the fairness of allowing an opposition candidate to make such claims without scrutiny, urging the media to hold Obi accountable for his statements.
