Keyamo Accuses Obi of Airport Parking Violation

Festus Keyamo, the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, accused Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, of violating airport parking regulations and refusing to pay a fine. Keyamo clarified that CCTV footage from the airport indicated that Obi arrived at the domestic terminal on July 4, 2026, at 8:28 PM, with a vehicle driven by a police officer.

The vehicle was parked unattended in a drop-off zone, which is against airport rules requiring drivers to remain with their vehicles. Keyamo stated that airport security personnel clamped the tires of Obi's vehicle after it was left unattended, and he rejected Obi's claims of being targeted for political reasons.

Keyamo demanded that Obi issue an unreserved public apology to the airport personnel and pay the prescribed fine of N25,000. He warned that if the demand was not met within a week, further actions would be taken by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).
