Tension in Ibadan as Clashes Erupt, Security Deployed

Tension heightened in the Ojoo area of Ibadan, Oyo State, due to clashes involving individuals from the Yoruba and Hausa communities on Wednesday. Although official details surrounding the incidents have not been confirmed, reports indicate unrest led to the deployment of a joint security outfit by the Oyo State government to restore normalcy and maintain law and order.

Residents have been urged to remain calm to avoid further disturbances. During the unrest, a scavenging depot known locally as Bolla was reportedly set ablaze; however, the circumstances surrounding the fire have not been independently verified at the time of the report.

Security authorities have yet to issue an official statement regarding the incidents, and efforts are ongoing to contain the situation and prevent further escalation.
