Clash in Ibadan Leaves One Feared Dead, Several Injured

A clash between suspected scavengers and traders in the Ojoo area of Ibadan has resulted in one person feared dead and several others suffering varying degrees of injury. The conflict reportedly arose during a heated argument involving traders and scavengers, particularly around a popular location known as Bowler Boi.

An unidentified woman was stabbed while attempting to intervene and restore peace, sustaining injuries in the process. The circumstances surrounding the reported death have not been officially confirmed by security authorities at the time of this report.

Residents expressed growing concern over repeated disputes and unruly behavior in the area, which has heightened tensions within the community. In response to the violence, the Nigeria Police Force and the Oyo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun Corps, were deployed to the area to restore normalcy and prevent further violence.

Commercial activities were temporarily halted during the clash, and Barrister Adebayo Lawal, the Deputy Governor of Oyo State, visited the scene to assess the situation.
