Oyo Government Acts to Restore Peace After Ojoo Clash

The Oyo State Government is actively working to restore peace after a violent clash in Ojoo, Akinyele Local Government Area, which reportedly resulted in two deaths. Deputy Governor Bayo Lawal, leading a government delegation, visited the troubled community shortly after the incident, which disrupted commercial and social activities in the area.

Lawal described the clash as unfortunate and emphasized the government's commitment to restoring peace on behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde. He assured residents that a comprehensive investigation would be conducted to determine the immediate and remote causes of the crisis, with any culpable individuals facing justice.

Lawal warned against actions that could fuel ethnic tensions and reiterated that Oyo State would not tolerate violence. Security agencies, including the Nigerian Army and Nigeria Police Force, have been directed to maintain a strong presence in the area to prevent further violence.

Community leaders, including youth leader Azzes Olamiposi, have been urged to facilitate reconciliation and promote dialogue among affected groups.
