NDLEA Reports New Drug Trafficking Method via Ingestion

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has raised an alarm regarding a new method of drug trafficking where suspects are swallowing illicit drugs for transport overland through the Sahara Desert to Europe. NDLEA spokesman Femi Babafemi disclosed this information in a statement, highlighting that traffickers are increasingly turning to road routes as airport surveillance intensifies.

Babafemi described this method as risky and dangerous, questioning the lengths traffickers will go to evade arrest. He noted that the NDLEA has increased its presence on highways to monitor and intercept these illicit substances.

A video accompanying the report shows NDLEA officials in red uniforms conducting roadside interventions, recovering multiple yellowish condom-wrapped pellets that were excreted by suspects. Chemical tests confirmed the presence of illicit drugs.

This development comes amid the NDLEA's ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking networks, including recent cases involving businessmen attempting to traffic drugs via commercial flights.
