Davido Rules Out Future Political Aspirations

In an exclusive interview with News Central TV on Tuesday, Afrobeats star David Adeleke, known as Davido, announced he will not pursue a political career, citing systemic flaws, high political stress, and risks of electoral manipulation in Nigeria. Reflecting on his digital advocacy during the Osun State governorship election, he dismissed the notion that his involvement indicated a shift towards politics.

Davido expressed frustration with the electoral system, stating, “How can you wake up in the morning knowing that the people want you, and you can get rigged out?” He reaffirmed his dedication to music, emphasizing his success against powerful political figures using only social media. Additionally, he clarified that he will not be pressured into supporting any candidate for the upcoming 2027 presidential election, stating he has no preferred candidate and will not align with the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Davido acknowledged his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke's political ties, but maintained his independent stance.
