Davido Won't Run for President Until Elections Are Fair

Afrobeats superstar Davido declared he could win a presidential election in Nigeria but will not enter politics until the electoral system is free and fair. During a livestream with content creator Carter Efe, he emphasized that the current system lacks transparency.

Davido stated he would only consider running for office if elections became credible, warning that anyone attempting to cheat him would face serious consequences. He is closely watching the Osun State gubernatorial election, where his uncle, Ademola Adeleke, is the incumbent governor seeking reelection on the Accord Party platform.

The election, scheduled for August 15, pits Adeleke against Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who has significant federal backing. Adeleke faces challenges including internal party defections and scrutiny over his administration's handling of local government funds.

Political analysts view his path to reelection as difficult but not impossible, given his grassroots appeal and incumbency advantage.
