Bauchi Police Launch Violent Crime Response Unit

The Bauchi Police Command officially launched its newly established Violent Crime Response Unit (VCRU) on Tuesday, with the aim of enhancing security operations across Bauchi State. The initiative, themed "Enhancing Accountability to Strengthen Public Trust," was led by the Inspector General of Police, Mr.

Olatunji Rilwan Disu. The VCRU is designed to provide a swift, intelligence-driven response to violent crimes such as armed robbery and kidnapping.

The unit comprises specially trained personnel equipped with modern operational resources to ensure rapid deployment and effective containment of security threats. A rigorous screening process was conducted, where 116 officers were assessed, and 54 were found suitable for deployment.

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sani Omolori Aliyu, reaffirmed the command's commitment to proactive policing and announced the appointment of CSP Abdurrazak Musa Padah as the pioneer head of the unit.

The launch was attended by representatives from the Bauchi State government, traditional rulers, religious leaders, and civil society organizations, emphasizing the importance of community support in security efforts.
