VON DG Urges PRNigeria Fellows to Embrace Responsible Journalism

On Wednesday in Abuja, Ndace, the Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON), addressed the 10-member Abuja cohort of the 2026 PRNigeria Young Communication Fellowship. He emphasized that career growth in journalism relies on mentorship and service, urging participants to maintain high professionalism standards, especially in digital media.

Ndace warned against the tendency to amplify negative narratives about Nigeria, which can deter investment and tourism. He highlighted the importance of distinguishing verified information from misinformation and disinformation, particularly in the context of the rapid growth of artificial intelligence and digital platforms.

The fellowship, organized by Image Merchants Promotion Limited, aims to prepare young Nigerians for careers in various media fields through intensive training and mentorship. This year, the program received 691 applications for 30 slots, admitting 10 participants each from Abuja, Ilorin, and Kano.

The visit was part of the fellowship's experiential learning program, showcasing VON's operations.
