WSCIJ Commends PRNigeria for Sustaining Young Fellowship

The Wole Soyinka Centre for Investigative Journalism (WSCIJ) praised PRNigeria for maintaining the Young Communication Fellowship (PYCF) for three consecutive years after the initial grant funding expired in 2024. Executive Director Motunrayo Alaka expressed this commendation during the closing ceremony for the Ilorin cohort of the 2026 fellowship.

She noted that the WSCIJ supported the initiative's inception through the Collaborative Media Project (CMEDIA) with a grant from the MacArthur Foundation. Alaka highlighted that the fellowship has evolved into a fully residential program across three locations: Abuja, Kano, and Kwara States.

She encouraged participants to prioritize integrity and professionalism in their careers. DSP Sani Suleiman, representing the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, acknowledged PRNigeria for providing a platform for young professionals to gain practical skills.

He praised Yushau A. Shuaib, Managing Director of Image Merchants Promotion Limited, for his role in sustaining the initiative. Mohammed Dahiru Lawal, PRNigeria Fellowship Coordinator, noted the program's sustainability also stems from partnerships, including support from the Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation.
