Sheikh Jingir Advocates for Muslim-Muslim Voting Tickets

Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahya Jingir, the National Chairman of the Jama’atu Ahlus Sunnah Wal-Jama’ah (JIBWIS), has publicly endorsed the voting of Muslim-Muslim tickets in Nigeria. He expressed his views amid a national debate, stating that Nigerian Christians advocate for their candidates, and he sees no issue in Muslims doing the same.

Jingir highlighted historical grievances, particularly in Plateau State, where he claims Muslims have faced discrimination and violence. He referenced a significant disparity in voting numbers between Muslim and Christian candidates in his state, questioning the fairness of the electoral process.

Jingir clarified that his support for Muslim-Muslim tickets is not limited to specific candidates like Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima but extends to any candidate who aligns with his beliefs. He also addressed the killings of Muslim leaders in Nigeria, citing historical events to underline his perspective on the ongoing challenges faced by Muslims in the country.
