VP Shettima Condoles Kebbi Families of Slain Soldiers

On Tuesday, Vice President Kashim Shettima visited Kebbi State to express condolences to the families of slain security personnel and the late Speaker of the State House of Assembly, who reportedly passed away on April 6 in Cairo, Egypt, after a prolonged illness. During his visit, Shettima delivered condolences on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, emphasizing the federal government's support for the people of Kebbi during this tragic time.

He noted that 11 individuals, including security personnel, were killed in an ambush while responding to a distress call in Shanga Local Government Area. Shettima praised the swift intervention of security agencies and assured the people of Kebbi that the federal government stands with them.

Governor Nasir Idris expressed appreciation for the Vice President's visit, describing it as a show of solidarity. The state government approved 100 million Naira to assist victims of banditry and 60 million Naira for the families of fallen security personnel.
