WAEC Urges Students to Visit Offices Over Payment Issues

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) issued an advisory on Thursday, August 27, to candidates experiencing difficulties with online payments through the Remita payment platform. This response was prompted by complaints from users, including a post by X user @ayoadekanmi, indicating that a recent upgrade to Remita's system was causing payments to process without generating the necessary confirmation receipts for registration.

WAEC suggested that candidates unable to complete their online registration could visit its offices directly to obtain registration PINs. Under the standard registration process, candidates typically purchase tokens online via WAEC's portal, receiving the token in their registered email once payment is confirmed.

WAEC clarified that the official deadline for the 2026 examination registration is Sunday, August 30, 2026, contrary to an earlier cited closing date of August 28. Candidates who find their bank accounts debited without recognition on the registration portal are advised to contact WAEC or visit an office to resolve their issues before the deadline.
