Cameroon Eliminates Nigeria in WAFCON Showdown

In a significant match at the WAFCON, the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon eliminated Nigeria's Super Falcons with a 1-0 victory. The decisive goal was scored by 20-year-old Myriam Wamen in the 19th minute, who struck a powerful shot from distance that found the top corner, leaving Nigerian goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie with no chance.

The Super Falcons attempted to respond quickly, with Rasheedat Ajibade delivering a dangerous cross, but Gift Monday could not connect properly. Nigeria continued to press for an equalizer, coming close in the 28th minute when Morinsola Babajide's delivery reached Jennifer Echegini, whose shot was saved.

Despite Nigeria's possession and opportunities, Cameroon maintained their lead into halftime. In the closing stages, substitute Ijeoma Okoronkwo nearly forced extra time with a left-footed effort that went wide.
