Itsekiri Leaders Demand Evacuation of Illegal Occupiers

Itsekiri leaders have called on Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori to take action against illegal occupiers at the Olero Flow Station, operated by Chevron Nigeria Limited, located in Warri North Local Government Area. This request follows allegations of an invasion by Ijaw youths, which they claim violates a peace accord.

The leaders, including Ebrohimi Obaghoro, Tebu Gbokoda, Aja Amita Udo Jakpa, and Samson Ogboduwa, expressed their surprise at the takeover during a press briefing in Warri. They urged the governor to facilitate the swift evacuation of these illegal occupants, stressing that the flow station is a critical national asset.

The leaders also called for an investigation by federal security agencies into the circumstances surrounding the Independent National Electoral Commission's delineation exercise, which they believe has been influenced by external actors. They reaffirmed their commitment to peace and justice while resisting any attempts to undermine their community's rights.
