Truck Crash in Rivers State Kills Student and Motorcyclist

On Wednesday evening, a tragic accident occurred along the Choba axis of the East-West Road in the Obio Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State, resulting in the deaths of a secondary school student named Juliet and a motorcyclist. The incident happened when a truck reportedly lost control and collided with the motorcycle, which was transporting the student home after her West African Senior School Certificate Examination.

Eyewitnesses, who spoke anonymously, indicated that the truck was speeding and lost control due to heavy rain. The accident drew a crowd of passersby who were visibly shaken by the sight of the victims.

Grace Iring Koko, a spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed that the bodies of the deceased were deposited at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital's morgue. The truck driver was arrested, and the vehicle was taken for inspection as part of the ongoing investigation.
